5 - 8th September, 2023 - Term 3, Week 9
Principal's News
Dear Families,
This week has been a busy one, with an excursion for the junior grades and Summer Sports for our senior students. The Prep, One and Two students enjoyed a day of bowling, pasta, pizza and play before taking part in activities after school. Our Preps headed home after tea, while our Grade Ones and Twos stayed on the sleep in the Multipurpose Room. A great time was had by all, although there are a few tired little people in class today! As I write this, the Volleyballers have just returned victorious from their round of games at the P-10 College! Needless to say, the team is very happy with themselves! We are yet to find out how our basketballers and tennis players have gone, but I’m sure they have enjoyed the day! A big thank you goes to all of the teachers involved in these activities and to the parents who helped out, especially those who were brave enough to sleep the night at school! We appreciate your support.
Next week is our final one of term, finishing ten weeks of learning and activities. The students have worked very hard and there have been plenty of activities and events that have taken place. It is hard to believe that we are heading into the final term of the year, which is always action-packed. Please make sure you have read and recorded the calendar dates so that you are aware of when events are happening, as well as noting the days that are school closures or pupil-free. I draw your attention particularly to the closure days around the Melbourne Cup holiday. This will be a great opportunity for children to reset during the term or for families to have a break together. Click on the calander tab at the top of this page to see all dates.
The second half of next week will be busy with the Sunray Warrior excursion on Wednesday, the Disco and R U OK? Day on Thursday and Footy Colours Day on Friday! Information about all of these events has been in past newsletters or on Seesaw. The Sunray Warriors excursion was a great one last year, with the students engaging in many fun and informative learning activities centred around the environment. Thank you to those families who have done their permissions on PAM. Students are asked to wear a splash of yellow on Thursday for R U OK? Day and their favourite team colours on Friday. The weather is expected to be very warm so it will be a great way to end the week with activities and a pie or hot dog for lunch. Orders can be placed through the CDF Pay site - NO LATER THAN 12PM NEXT MONDAY 11TH SEPTEMBER.
As mentioned in last week’s newsletter, on Monday we celebrated Indi’s first birthday. She enjoyed her birthday treats and celebration with the students and the children enjoyed a cupcake as well! We made the local newspaper today, so make sure you check this out if you have a chance.
As usual on the last day of term, we will have an early finish at 2.25pm. The Victorian bus will run at the earlier time, while any students on the NSW bus will need to make arrangements for an early pick up. We thank families for organising this.
I hope you all enjoy a good weekend!
